The purpose of the Sausalito Youth Sailing Foundation is to support all charitable activities, including education of on-the-water boating activities, safety, and ameteur competition. The selection of scholarship recipients and operation of the Foundation shall be the responsibility of the entire board.

In 2010 the SYSF is anticipating providing funding in support of the following programs: 

  1. The Sausalito Yacht Club Youth Sailing Program (SYCYSP) with a projected 135 student participation with the equivalent funding for 10 full Scholarships.
  2. Partial funding of replacement sail training boats on an as needed basis.
  3. Partial funding of replacement crash boats utilized in the SYCYSP.
  4. Funding of 4 replacement VHF radios used in the SYCYSP.
  5. Scholarship funding for the Tamalpais High School Sailing program at the SYC.
  6. Scholarship funding for participants in the Call of the Sea.
  7. Scholarship funding for participants in the Spaulding Wooden Boat Center Youth Apprentice Program

Donate

If you would like to have a boat named after you in the SYCYSP the SYSF provides the perfect vehicle.  All donations are fully tax deductible.  The SYCYSP is in need of the following assets:

  1. Opti trainers approximate cost $2,500.
  2. Flying Junior (FJ) sailboats: approximate cost $7,500
  3. Collegiate 420s sailboats: approximate cost $8500
